Job summary

Addison Group is partnering with a multibillion-dollar, publicly traded company to hire a Staff Accountant in Chicago, IL. This hybrid role (3 days in office) focuses on SEC reporting and external filings, offering exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

You’ll support the preparation of SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K, contribute to earnings releases and investor materials, and engage in XBRL tagging and SOX compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent).
  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting and/or industry with exposure to SEC reporting.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and review of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K) and related disclosures.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and tie-out documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of filings.
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams and external auditors to coordinate timely reporting.
  • Assist with earnings releases, board materials, and investor presentations.
  • Participate in the XBRL tagging process to ensure proper financial data presentation.
  • Contribute to process improvements and support SOX compliance initiatives.
  • Perform technical accounting research and assist with ad hoc projects as needed.

Job description

Addison Group is partnering with a multibillion-dollar, publicly traded industry leader to identify a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team.

This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with SEC reporting in a highly visible role. You’ll work closely with corporate accounting, finance, tax, legal, treasury, and IT to support accurate and timely external financial filings while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including financial statements (10-Q, 10-K) and related disclosures
