Job summary

Quanex in Cambridge, OH is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions to ensure financial integrity.

You will work with seasoned finance professionals, contribute to process improvements, and help ensure SOX compliance and timely financial reporting. A Bachelor's in Accounting is preferred and strong Excel skills are essential.

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close activities accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Complete account reconciliations and balance sheet analyses.
• Manage intercompany transactions and ensure accounts balance.
• Support SOX compliance and audit documentation.
• Prepare sales and use tax, GST/PST filings as needed.
• Assist with budgeting processes and financial reporting.
• Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain strong internal controls and financial data integrity.
