Description

Overview

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, interpreting accounting transactions, reconciling general ledger accounts, and providing timely and relevant analysis and reporting to management in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of financial statements for multiple entities, including analyzing account activity, recording journal entries, and reconciling the general ledger;
• Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses;
• Prepare monthly work papers to support financial statements and review and analyze annual audit documentation;
• Analyze financial statements and prepare summaries for annual reporting;
• Collaborate effectively with other departments;
• Support sales and use tax compliance;
• Support Capital Expense and Fixed Asset management through reporting, budgeting, capital project close-out, and fixed asset internal audits;
• Assist with physical inventory;
• Ensure safety, food safety, and quality protocols are followed;
• Perform other tasks and analyses as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting;
• Minimum of two years of public accounting or related experience;
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP;
• High accuracy and attention to detail;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDF programs;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Self-motivated and responsible;
• Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.
