Job summary

Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Accounting for month-end close (100%).
  • Prepare and post daily journal entries and reconcile GL accounts.
  • Assist in preparing balance sheets, P&L statements, and other financial reports.
  • Submit government filings and respond to financial inquiries from internal customers.
  • Research issues and support solutions; handle fee management tasks.

The Staff Accountant I

The Staff Accountant I assists in the monthly processing of journal entries, month-end close, account reconciliations, filings with government agencies, and preparation of financial statements. This position compiles financial data to aid senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss (P&L) statements, and other financial reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
  • General Ledger Accounting - 100%
  • Performs daily journal entries
  • Ensures accurate and timely GL entries to process the month-end close
  • Performs account reconciliations to support accurate bookeeping
  • Prepares financial statements
  • Completes and submits government filings
  • Responds to financial questions from internal customers
  • Researches issues and troubleshoots for potential solutions
  • Performs third-party fee management includng reconciliation, processing, accruing, and remitting payment

  • May work on special projects or other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
  • 1+ year(s) of general ledger accounting experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
