Job summary

CPP Corporation in Albany, OR is seeking a Staff Accountant to support general ledger activity, AR/AP, payroll accounting, and prepaids/accruals. You will perform account analysis, reconciliations, and month-end close tasks in our ERP environment, helping ensure accurate financial records.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting or equivalent experience, strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or five years as Staff Accountant.
• Detail oriented and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of accounting processes and systems; advanced Excel.
• Good communication and ability to relate with staff across departments.

Responsibilities

• Posting AR invoices and applying customer payments.
• Prepare and distribute customer invoices and statements accurately.
• Reconcile sales and receivable balances to supporting schedules.
• Maintain orderly accounting filing system.
• Payroll-related journal entries and payroll accounting.
• Month end close journal entries and supporting reconciliations.

Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for performing various procedures associated with recording business transaction activity within the general ledger and sub-ledgers. Other responsibilities include performing account analysis and reconciliation, process improvement activities, record-keeping, and audit support. The successful candidate must be able to analyze, document, and transact business within the organizations’ s ERP systems in a highly accurate and efficient manner. Specific disciplines for this position include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll accounting, and prepaid/accrual accounting, but may expand or change based on the candidate’s qualifications and/or business conditions.

Responsibilities

• Posting AR invoices and applying customer payments
• Prepare and distribute customer invoices and statements, accurately and timely
• Communicate with Customers on past due accounts
• Reconcile sales and receivable account balances to supporting schedules to ensure their accuracy
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system

• Payroll and payroll-related journal entries
• Consumable and operating supply inventory accounting
• Accounting for various prepaids and accruals
• Month end close journal entries and support
• Reconciliations

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting with two years accounting experience, or five years of experience as a Staff Accountant
• Must be detail oriented
• Solid knowledge of accounting processes, technology systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with staff in accounting and other departments
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
