Job summary

Consolidated Precision Products Corp. in Albany, OR is seeking a Staff Accountant to perform ledger activity, journal entries, month-end closings, payroll and AP/AR processing, and support audits.

You will work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment using our ERP system, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. The ideal candidate has a 2-3 year accounting background or higher, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or an Associate’s degree with 2-3 years professional accounting experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Maintain a critical eye for detail and organization.
• Work effectively within a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general understanding of ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries such as system journals, expense accruals, and reclass transactions as appropriate.
• Perform month-end closing tasks, including journal entries and monthly account reconciliation.
• Payroll and cash disbursement journals.
• Accounts receivable, invoicing and cash application.
• Accounting for consumables usage and invoicing.
• Process accounts payable for specific vendors receipts / invoices.
• Reconcile vendor statements.
• Resolve discrepancies.
• Provide requested information for external audits.
• Work cross-functionally with other groups to provide accurate accounting information, proactively identify, and resolve potential accounting issues, and recommend practical solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for performing various procedures associated with recording business transaction activity within the general ledger and sub-ledgers. Other responsibilities include performing account analysis and reconciliation, process improvement activities, record-keeping, and audit support. The successful candidate must be able to analyze, document, and transact business within the organizations’ s ERP systems in a highly accurate and efficient manner. Specific disciplines for this position include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll accounting, and prepaid/accrual accounting, but may expand or change based on the candidate’s qualifications and/or business conditions.
