The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, executing month-end close procedures, and ensuring overall compliance with GAAP. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and supporting compliance with federal regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements.
Within a cybersecurity and software engineering environment, the Staff Accountant ensures proper accounting for labor-intensive contracts, indirect cost allocations, project cost structures, and compliance with government cost principles. This role supports a DCAA‑ready accounting environment and collaborates closely with forecast, planning and analysis (FP&A), contracts, and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting for federal programs.
Sufficient fine motor skills for use of computers, calculators with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time.
Visual and communication abilities adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree in applicable field preferred.
At least one year in government contracting or public accounting.
Current CPA or CMA certification, or active progress toward obtaining a CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support project deadlines, deployments, outages and critical business needs.
Must have ability to pass a background screening.
