Job summary

The MetroHealth System is recruiting an accounting professional to support grant-focused financial operations at our Brooklyn Heights location. You will handle monthly journal entries, financial analysis, reconciliations, and grant reporting for diverse federal, state, and local awards, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will collaborate across teams to improve financial processes, uphold our mission, and support close processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; Excel at least intermediate.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication; diplomatic with customers.
• Able to function at a high level in a demanding environment.
• Willing to work additional hours during month-end close.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds.

• Performs key accounting duties in support of The MetroHealth System (MHS) including monthly journal entries, financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting for grants with lower complexity.
• Maintains and monitors financial aspects of various Federal, State, and locally-funded grants and contracts awarded to MHS.
• Works collaboratively with others to support accounting, financial reporting, and related improvements.
• Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8am-5pm

Summary

Performs key accounting duties in support of The MetroHealth System (MHS) including monthly journal entries, financial analysis, reconciliations, and other required reporting for grants with lower levels of complexity and assigned areas of accounting. Maintains & monitors financial aspects of various Federal, State, and locally-funded grants and contracts awarded to MHS. Works collaboratively with others to support accounting, financial reporting and any other related activities including identified improvements. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of software products, with a minimum of intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to use a diplomatic approach with customers.
• Able to function at a high level in a demanding environment.
• Willing and able to work additional hours as needed and approved by management (i.e. during the month-end close process).
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
• Experience working in an Accounting capacity in the Healthcare industry.
• Experience with financial grant reporting, including knowledge of current regulations from the United States Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

Physical Requirements
