Job summary

SSC Services for Education in Tampa is seeking a Grounds/Field Operations professional to maintain football practice facilities, oversee turf, irrigation, pest management, and field renovations, ensuring compliance with NCAA NFHS and institutional standards.

You will assist the Grounds Manager by planning schedules, managing annual operating budgets, supervising full-time and seasonal staff, and applying IPM-based turf practices to deliver safe, visually appealing fields for practices, games,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in turfgrass/related field required; bachelor's preferred.
• Minimum 3 years athletic field or grounds management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance schedules for football facilities including irrigation, mowing, pest and fertilizer management, and field setup.
• Coordinate daily field operations to ensure safe, appealing fields for practices, games and events.
• Assist in budget planning and tracking departmental expenditures and labor usage.
• Supervise and train full-time, part-time, seasonal, and student staff in turf management and safety.
• Maintain records of pesticide/fertilizer applications, irrigation activities, and inventory.
• Support football stadium setups, field renovations, and post-event breakdowns.
