Job summary

Pratt Industries in Valparaiso, IN is seeking a Stacker Operator for the 3rd shift (11pm-7am). Starting wage $17.60 per hour. You will assist with stacking, setup, operation, cleanup, and work with operators to improve operations.

Duties include reading setup instructions, bundler setup, proper loading, quality checks, and maintaining clean, safe work practices. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Monitor quality and report issues to the Operator.
• Be willing to progress toward Operator role across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Set-up bundler, hold down arm, load former, and delivery end of machine according to setup techniques.
• Secure cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags for production runs.
• Stack finished boxes per factory master.
• Ensure units have proper top/bottom sheets and load tags.
• Monitor quality and report problems.
• Assist operator and first helper as needed.
• Move up the line toward Operator when possible.
• Report final piece counts to the Operator.
• Complete reports accurately and timely; submit maintenance work orders as needed.
• Comply with safety, housekeeping, and company policies.
• Support schedule adherence and suggest improvements as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsible for all activities associated with stacking the equipment and helping the operators including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Set-up bundler, hold down arm, load former, and delivery end of machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
• Secure proper cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags for production runs.
• Stack finished boxes in accordance with factory master.
• Ensure each unit has proper top and bottom cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags.
• Monitor quality of boxes and report quality problems to the Operator.
• Assist operator and first helper as necessary.
• Be willing to move up the line of progression to the Operator regardless of shift.
• Ensure the correct bundle and unit counts.
• Report final count of piece unit to the Operator.
• Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Helps operators adhere to the production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.
