Job summary

Woodgrain in Idaho is hiring a Stacker 2nd Shift to grade and stack random lengths of cut stock coming off the line. You’ll stack boards on pallets for 2x4s or longer, band pallets, and ensure accurate piece counts.

The role is hourly, full-time with a strong emphasis on teamwork, safety, and reliability in a manufacturing setting; high school diploma and ability to read a tape measure are required, plus good communication and stress management skills.

Job Summary:

The Stacker is responsible for grading and stacking random lengths of cut stock as it comes off the line. Stackers will stack boards on pallets for 2x4’s or longer lengths, band pallets, and check piece counts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Grade blocks of wood coming off of the line.
• Stack wood on pallets while keeping an accurate piece count.
• Band completed units.
• Communicate with the Tally when units are banded and ready to be tagged.
• Ability to work in and support other departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Good listening and communication skills.
• Ability to handle stress and pressure.
• Ability to work as a team.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Travel:

This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
