Job summary

Lake Erie College in Mentor, OH is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Stable Assistant to support the Stable Staff Supervisor. Responsibilities include daily stall cleaning, feeding and watering horses, and assisting with veterinary or farrier work. Qualifications

• Experience in stable procedures and horsemanship.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs or more and work flexible hours.
• Must be able to operate a tractor and back wagons through barns.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of stalls and general stable maintenance.
• Feeding and watering horses, incl. water bucket refills.
• Turnouts, handling, grooming, and tacking horses as needed.
• Assist with veterinary, dentist or farrier work when assigned.
• Show preparation and bedding distribution for stalls.
• Maintain safety procedures around all horses.
