Job summary

CREMER North America, LP is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at the South Terminal to verify and record shipments, prepare documents, and check in drivers upon arrival. You will create and confirm picks/shipments/receives in the Business Central Inventory system and coordinate with Planning and Logistics for smooth operations.

Ideal candidates have 1 year shipping/receiving experience, 1 year administrative experience, forklift certification preferred, and strong

Responsibilities

  • Verify and maintain records on incoming/outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare shipment documents for material handlers.
  • Check in drivers at arrival; communicate with planning and logistics teams.
  • Create/confirm picks, shipments, and receipts in Business Central Inventory system.
  • Support Warehouse operations and Dept. communications across Shipping, Planning and Logistics.

Department: Shipping FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Location(s): South Terminal Status: Full-time

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing Shipment documents for material handlers, checking in drivers at their arrival time, Creating and confirming success of picks/shipments/receives in Business Central Inventory system, communication of Shipping Department with Planning and Logistics Departments and overall support of the Warehouse.

III. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Position-specific vocational education/experience, training, or certification is preferred
  • Valid stand-up and sit-down forklift certification preferred; in house training will be provided prior to start.
Kind & Length of Experience:
  • 1 year of Shipping & Receiving experience required.
  • 1 year of administrative experience required.
  • 1 year of stand-up forklift experience is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong experience with warehouse inventory systems and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Must have intermediate computer skills, intermediate to master use of RF scanners, and experience in Business Central or equivalent.
Essential Functions:
  • Ability to stand/sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequently required to provide clear written and verbal communication via phone/email/in person
  • Wear personal safety equipment as required
  • Utilize cognitive abilities to effectively communicate with internal customers to understand requests
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Frequently stand, walk, squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head, bend or twist the neck and trunk.
  • Frequent use of a Computer and/or an RF Scanner.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy;
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes;
  • Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders to route materials;
  • Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter;
  • Minimal to no quality errors and/or mis-shipments;
  • Must have intermediate computer skills, intermediate to master use of RF scanners, and experience in Business Central;
  • Able to prepare paperwork;
  • Able to accurately and effectively create picks/register/post/confirm inventory using Business Central software;
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with little guidance required;
  • Adhere to all Environmental, Health, Safety, Security Requirements covered under Local State and Federal Regulations;
  • Follow all RC14001 guiding principles, policies, procedures and other requirements;
  • Maintain Hazardous waste in accordance to all Local, State and Federal Regulations;
  • Support efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care 14001 (RC14001)/Environment, Health, Safety, & Sustainability (EHS&S) management system;
  • Adhere to all DOT, IATA and IMDG hazardous materials or dangerous goods regulations;
  • Other duties as requested.
