Job summary

Schnuck Markets, Inc. seeks an Architectural/Project Designer to develop preliminary scope and conceptual plans for new stores, remodels and special projects. You will lead collaboration with project managers, merchandising, maintenance and internal stakeholders, guiding design from concept to completion.

Role includes hybrid in-office/work-from-home with initial four days in the office for learning, then three days in-office and two days remote; location is St. Louis, Missouri with 0–25% travel.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree; concentration in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Construction Project Management or equivalent retail design field.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in architectural/design roles.
• Knowledge of conceptual and construction documents for retail facilities and store layouts.

Responsibilities

• Prepares preliminary scope and conceptual plans for proposed and confirmed projects (new stores, remodels, special projects).
• Leads collaboration with Construction Project Managers, Merchandising Solutions, Maintenance, Procurement and internal stakeholders.
• Schedules, delegates, supervises and reviews work to support project design initiatives; coordinates with architects/engineers.
• Manages projects from conception to completion; ensures quality control and clear communication.
• Creates site-adapted casework and décor drawings; provides input on development and delivery.
• Understands planning processes; ensures designs comply with merchandising initiatives and standards.
• Researches trends in the food retailing industry and provides cost-effective solution insights.
