We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructional Assistant to support our Early Childhood (K-2) team.

Position Overview:
The Instructional Assistant for Early Childhood (K-2) will work closely with classroom teachers to support the educational and developmental needs of students. This role involves assisting in daily classroom activities, providing individualized and small group support, and contributing to a faith-filled, supportive environment where students feel valued and encouraged. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for young children and a strong commitment to their academic, social, and spiritual development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning, organizing, and delivering instructional activities aligned with the school’s curriculum.
  • Support the academic needs of students by providing individual and small group instruction in core subjects, including reading, writing, and math.
  • Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where students can thrive.
  • Help implement behavioral management strategies that promote self-regulation and positive student interactions.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of classroom materials, supplies, and learning resources.
  • Monitor students during recess, lunch, and other activities to ensure safety and positive behavior.
  • Collaborate with teachers to track student progress and assist with assessments.
  • Promote spiritual growth by supporting Catholic teachings and assisting with faith-based activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, as needed.
  • Attend school meetings, professional development, and collaborate with other staff members to support school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working with young children, particularly in an educational setting, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education practices and child development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A passion for supporting the growth and development of young children in a faith-based environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, parents, and staff.
  • Willingness to support and live out the Catholic faith and school values.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
