We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated First Grade Teacher to join our team and help guide our students on their academic and spiritual journey.

Position Overview:
The First Grade Teacher at Saint Adalbert Catholic Elementary School will play a key role in fostering the academic, emotional, and spiritual development of students. This position requires a creative and dynamic educator who will provide engaging lessons in a supportive, faith-filled classroom. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching and nurturing young children while also instilling Catholic values and promoting the growth of students’ intellectual abilities, character, and relationship with God.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies that align with both the school’s curriculum and Catholic values.
• Foster a classroom environment that is nurturing, supportive, and conducive to the academic and spiritual growth of first-grade students.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, including differentiated instruction, to meet the diverse needs of all students.
• Incorporate Catholic teachings and faith-based activities into the daily curriculum, helping students grow in their relationship with God.
• Develop and implement positive behavior management strategies to create a respectful and productive classroom atmosphere.
• Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records of academic and behavioral growth.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and successes.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to support school-wide initiatives and student success.
• Participate in school meetings, faculty professional development, and other events as part of the school community.
• Promote the development of good citizenship by helping students understand the importance of kindness, respect, and responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field required; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Teaching certification (or eligibility) for the state of Indiana.
• Experience in early elementary education is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and effective instructional practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A passion for teaching and a love for young children.
• A deep commitment to the Catholic faith and the ability to integrate Catholic teachings into the classroom.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
