Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a hands-on SSL Lab Engineer to manage day-to-day lab operations for SSL test systems in the Space Simulation Lab at the Redmond site. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate test needs into safe, repeatable setups, and support production and hardware testing.

The role emphasizes mechanical engineering, test system development, and troubleshooting, including calibration and maintenance of lab equipment and fixtures.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in hardware development or hands-on engineering environment.
• Experience with measurement and inspection devices (torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain lab equipment for production and test hardware.
• Design, build, and modify custom test fixtures and tooling.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and GD&T to assemble and verify hardware.
• Document test setups, procedures, and results.
