Job summary

Cisco is seeking a senior cloud engineer to design, deploy, and operate large-scale distributed data platforms across AWS and private clouds. You will focus on Cassandra, OpenSearch, Kafka, and PostgreSQL, and drive automation with Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.

You will guide capacity planning, performance optimization, and incident management workflows, while collaborating with product, development, and operations teams to ensure reliability and scalable delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and 8+ years deploying, monitoring, and upgrading distributed databases (CassandraDB, OpenSearch, Kafka, PostgreSQL).
• 5+ years managing AWS infrastructure at scale for SaaS production environments.
• 5+ years of infrastructure automation and DevOps practices, including CI/CD and IaC (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes), and Python.
• 3+ years leading technical projects with estimation, milestones, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate resilient large-scale distributed data platforms across AWS and private cloud.
• Lead cloud engineering initiatives to automate infrastructure and improve reliability and deployment velocity using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
• Ensure platform integrity through automated backup, security patching, and incident management workflows.
• Serve as a trusted technical consultant to application teams on data access patterns, cloud architecture, and migration strategies.
