Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer / Release Management & Automation Specialist to sustain an enterprise release platform and deliver a modernization path. You will automate deployments with Ansible, manage Kubernetes/OpenShift, and collaborate across teams to improve reliability, security and efficiency.

You will participate in pipeline planning, support vendor evaluations, and create playbooks, while upholding security standards and change-management

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in automation development (Ansible).
• Kubernetes/OpenShift administration; CK A/CKS preferred.
• Linux/Unix system administration.
• Python, JavaScript and Ansible automation.
• Experience with enterprise release orchestration tools.
• Monitoring/logging experience (Splunk).

Responsibilities

• Sustain current enterprise release orchestration operations, integrations, automation, governance, and support activities.
• Design, develop and support automation for agent deployments and release processes.
• Support vendor evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and transition to future platforms.
• Participate in pipeline planning and design, develop and support release/orchestration.
• Contribute to automation policy, standards and processes.
• Promote re-use and adoption through demos and coaching.
• Ensure automations comply with SLF security directives and policies.
• Create automation playbooks and documentation for team reference.
• Identify automation opportunities and guide implementation approaches.
• Educate others on automation tools and best practices.
• Operate with strict security and change-management discipline.
• Balance reliability, support, stakeholder engagement and incident resolution with SRE mindset.
