Job summary

F5 Networks, Inc. is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer I to join our Hybrid Seattle team. The role focuses on designing secure, scalable enterprise solutions within the Information Security group, using machine data analytics and log analysis across the organization.

You will partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to implement security protocols and drive digital transformation. The position is based in Seattle, WA, with hybrid work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with scripting and development using Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and tooling.
• Exposure to security protocols and security best practices.
• Distributed systems concepts and scalability principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, secure system solutions for enterprise-scale distributed systems.
• Implement security-focused solutions using engineering best practices and machine data analytics.
• Lead initiatives in log analysis, intrusion detection, and security analytics with supervision.
• Apply DevOps tooling and API scripting to solve complex operational and security challenges.
• Develop and articulate technical proposals and implementation timelines under senior review.
• Collaborate on service availability and quality initiatives to deliver high-quality, secure services.
• Assist in incubating new ideas for business outcomes and security improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotation activities with senior engineer support for critical security incidents.
