Job summary

BCforward is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support infrastructure reliability, automation, and vulnerability remediation initiatives in Jersey City. The role focuses on Windows/Linux administration, SRE practices, and proactive patching.

You will work with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Application Development teams to remediate findings, apply lifecycle management, and drive remediation across platforms, middleware, and components to improve operational

Qualifications

• Experience in SRE/infrastructure engineering and reliability.
• Hands-on Windows and Linux administration experience.
• Proven ability to remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities and verify fixes.
• Experience with infrastructure, middleware, and platform components.
• Strong collaboration with Cybersecurity, Infra, and App Dev teams.
• Experience applying automation and reliability practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead remediation of infrastructure vulnerabilities across Windows, Linux, middleware, and supporting components.
• Drive closure of vulnerability findings, audit issues, and cyber remediation commitments within timelines.
• Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Application Development teams to remediate at scale.
• Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management to reduce recurring findings.
• Apply SRE and automation practices to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Support validation of completed fixes for vulnerability remediation.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support infrastructure reliability, automation, and vulnerability remediation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Windows/Linux infrastructure, SRE practices, automation, and vulnerability management, with a focus on driving remediation through patching and verification—not just monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead remediation of infrastructure vulnerabilities across Windows, Linux, middleware, and supporting platform components.
• Drive the closure of vulnerability findings, audit issues, and cyber remediation commitments within agreed timelines.
• Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Application Development teams to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities at scale.
• Perform and coordinate actual patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities to reduce recurring security findings.
• Apply SRE and automation practices to improve infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency.
• Support vulnerability remediation through verification and validation of completed fixes.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with SRE and infrastructure engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with Windows and Linux administration.
• Demonstrated experience in infrastructure vulnerability remediation, including actual patching and verification.
• Experience working with infrastructure, middleware, and supporting platform components.
• Strong collaboration skills across Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Application Development teams.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and operational reliability practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar.
• Audit and controls remediation experience is preferred.
• Ability to work across multiple technical teams and drive remediation efforts to completion.
