Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Site Reliability Engineer on a 12+ month contract located onsite in Abbott Park, IL.

The role emphasizes building and maintaining scalable infrastructure using AWS and Azure, with a strong focus on automation, CI/CD, and incident response. You will work with Python/Bash/Java, Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC tools, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to stabilize distributed systems and document Runbooks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SRE or related experience.
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or Java.
• Strong Linux/Windows OS and networking knowledge.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC tools (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and write clear Runbooks.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented SRE. This is a 12+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Abbott Park, IL(Onsite).

Pay Range: $60 - $65/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust infrastructure using AWS and Azure services.
• Automate workflows and repetitive tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Monitor system performance and reliability with tools like New Relic and Azure Monitoring.
• Conduct incident management, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to write clear documentation, such as Runbooks.
• Support Azure ML, Databricks, and other related SaaS tools.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or related fields.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Java.
• Deep understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems and networking concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with microservices architecture and supporting AI/ML solutions.
• Certifications related to cloud engineering or DevOps.
• Familiarity with large-scale system management and configuration.
