Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Site Reliability Engineer on a 12+ month contract located onsite in Abbott Park, IL.

The role emphasizes building and maintaining scalable infrastructure using AWS and Azure, with a strong focus on automation, CI/CD, and incident response. You will work with Python/Bash/Java, Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC tools, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to stabilize distributed systems and document Runbooks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SRE or related experience.
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or Java.
• Strong Linux/Windows OS and networking knowledge.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC tools (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and write clear Runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust infrastructure using AWS and Azure.
• Automate workflows and repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub/GitHub Actions.
• Monitor performance with New Relic and Azure Monitoring.
• Perform incident management with root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with teams to write documentation and Runbooks.
• Support Azure ML, Databricks, and related SaaS tools.
