Bowie State University is seeking SRC Simulation Specialists to lead senior‑level research support and to design simulations for nursing students in a non-regular fixed-term role.

The position involves coordinating lab schedules, guiding faculty and students in simulation, and ensuring safe, effective learning environments. Open to experienced nursing educators with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure to practice in a compact state.
• Minimum 3 years of nursing practice, teaching, or equivalent experience.
• Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision, ability to work shifts during the day, evening, and weekends.
• Excellent written communication and strong verbal communication skills in the English language.
• Unencumbered RN licensure.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Lab/Simulation experience: Provide instruction including demonstrations, guided practice, and skill evaluation for nursing students.
• Orient full-time, part-time faculty, and students to lab/simulation.
• Coordinate nursing skills lab schedule.
• Coordinate schedule for open lab, clinical, simulation, and debriefing rooms.
• Assist in supervision of lab tutors and lab assistants.
• Mentor faculty to ensure effective teaching and curriculum delivery by the entire team.

Acts independently in the design of research projects, the development of methods and procedures, the preparation of research proposals and the writing of research findings. Reports to faculty researcher or principal investigator.
