Job summary

Continental Electronics Corporation is seeking a Senior Welder for the second shift to set up, maintain, and perform complex welding operations from drawings and specifications on aluminum, stainless, brass, and copper. The role requires TIG welding expertise and knowledge of MIG/STICK as a plus, with the ability to read blueprints and perform shop math.

Second shift hours are 2:30pm–1:00am, Monday–Thursday, with some Saturdays and extended hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, trade school or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years industrial welding experience.
• Skilled in TIG welding; MIG and Stick welding; torch attachment is a plus.
• Must be able to set up machines and read blueprints; knowledge of shop mathematics through geometry.
• Must perform a skills test during the interview process.
• Current or previous AWS welding certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, maintains, and performs difficult welding operations from drawings, sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions.
• Employs welding techniques to attach metal works with aluminum, stainless, brass, and copper.
• Inspects own work using measuring tools (calipers, squares, surface gauges).
• Recognizes critical areas such as sealing surfaces and final finishes to prevent damage.

• Reports quality problems to management for corrective action.
• Duties may be modified to meet business needs.
• Cross-trained as backup in other areas of the plant.

The Sr Welder's main job functions are to set-up, maintain, and perform moderately complex and difficult welding operations using standard or specialized welding techniques and accessory tools necessary for completion of assignment, under minimum supervision.

This role is for our second shift team: Monday – Thursday 2:30pm-1:00am (some extended hours may be required from time to time) & some Saturdays. On a 4/10 holiday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Sets-up, maintains, and performs difficult welding operations within required tolerances, using standard or specialized techniques working from drawings, rough sketches, written specifications, and verbal instructions
• Employs all welding processes and equipment to accomplish attachment of various metal works with a wide variety of materials (aluminum, stainless, brass, and copper)
• Inspects own work using measuring equipment such as squares, surface gauges, and calipers
• Recognizes critical areas such as sealing surfaces and final finishes and uses proper care to prevent damage

Qualifications

• Must perform a skill test during interview process
• Current or previous AWS certification a plus

Other duties and responsibilities

• Will be cross-trained as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant which broadens skills

Pay may range from $34.00 to $36.00 hourly + 10% differential for second shift

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
