Job summary

Continental Electronics Corporation is seeking a Sr Welder for second shift to set up, maintain, and perform complex welding tasks per drawings and specs.

You will work with TIG/MIG/Stick welding, read blueprints, and use precision measuring tools. The role requires 4+ years of welding experience and may require AWS certification.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED, trade school or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years industrial welding experience.
  • Skilled in TIG welding; MIG and Stick welding and torch work a plus.
  • Must be able to set up machine and read standard blueprints and have a knowledge of shop mathematics through geometry.
  • Must perform a skill test during interview process.
  • Current or previous AWS certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sets-up, maintains, and performs difficult welding operations within tolerances, using standard or specialized techniques working from drawings, rough sketches, written specifications, and verbal instructions.
  • Employs all welding processes and equipment to accomplish attachment of various metal works with a wide variety of materials (aluminum, stainless, brass, and copper).
  • Inspects own work using measuring equipment such as squares, surface gauges, and calipers.
  • Recognizes critical areas such as sealing surfaces and final finishes and uses proper care to prevent damage.
  • Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
  • Will be cross-trained as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant which broadens skills.

Overview

The Sr Welder's main job functions are to set-up, maintain, and perform moderately complex and difficult welding operations using standard or specialized welding techniques and accessory tools necessary for completion of assignment, under minimum supervision.

This role is for our second shift team: Monday – Thursday 2:30pm-1:00am (some extended hours may be required from time to time) & some Saturdays. On a 4/10 holiday schedule.

Pay may range from $34.00 to $36.00 hourly + 10% differential for second shift

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.

Base salary is one component of your total rewards package.
