Job summary

Genesee Scientific in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Sr. Warehouse Associate to join the Distribution & Logistics team. You will process orders, assist with inventory, and ensure safe, accurate packaging and delivery of products.

You will train with experienced staff, gain SOP experience, and support continuous improvement while maintaining high safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of stockroom or warehouse experience.
• Forklift certification preferred; willing to obtain.
• Familiarity with FedEx and UPS shipping programs is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication with team and other departments.
• Commitment to safety protocols and a safe work environment.
• Basic computer and scanning proficiency; MS Office/Teams familiarity.
• Team player who can also work independently to resolve problems.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor new associates; promote best practices and SOP adherence.
• Help create SOPs and Work Instructions.
• Process customer orders daily to meet expectations.
• Assist with proper storage and organization of products.
• Support inventory audits and cycle counts for accuracy.
• Ensure packaging/labeling per SOP, including HazMat docs.
• Maintain safety protocols and promote a safe workplace.
• Collaborate with team to resolve issues and boost productivity.
• Identify process improvements and participate in efficiency initiatives.
• Complete local delivery routes, load/deliver up to 60 lbs.
• Operate PIT equipment to move and stage materials.
• Communicate professionally with peers and leadership.

What Will You Do

• Assist in training and mentoring new associates, promoting best practices and ensuring adherence to operational standards
• Contribute to the creation of Standard Operating Procedures and/or Work Instructions
• Process customer orders daily to meet customer expectations efficiently and accurately
• Assist with proper storage and organization of products
• Assist with inventory audits/cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records
• Ensure all products are packaged and labelled correctly according to standard operating procedures, including completing necessary documentation for hazardous materials
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols, actively promoting a safe working environment for all team members
• Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and enhance productivity, ensuring a positive work experience for everyone
• Identify areas for process improvement, root cause issues, and participate in initiatives to enhance warehouse operations and efficiency
• Hazardous materials (HazMat) certification or willingness to obtain (training provided)
• Complete local delivery routes as needed, including loading products, safely operating a delivery vehicle, delivering packages up to 60lbs, and interacting with customers in a professional manner while complying with all transportation laws and regulations
• Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment as needed to move, stage, load, and unload materials.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with peers and direct leadership

Requirements

What you will bring:

• 3+ years of relevant experience in a stockroom or warehouse is required
• Forklift certification is highly preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held
• Familiarity with FedEx and UPS shipping programs is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments effectively
• Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment
• Basic proficiency with computers and scanning equipment preferred, familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Teams
• Desire to work as part of a team, but also able to work independently and solve problems quickly
• Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Works efficiently within deadlines

Physical Requirements

Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Frequently lift and carry packages weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to operate a forklift, clamp devise, pallet jack, overhead crane devise and maintain OSHA forklift certification
• Walk up and down stairs and stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequently bend and stoop to pick up packages
• Safely and efficiently operate a large delivery van
• Must be comfortable driving and working in varying weather conditions
• Adhere to assigned delivery routes and follow time schedules
• Efficiently pick, pack, and prepare items for shipment
• The role primarily requires prolonged standing and continuous movement throughout the work shift
