Job summary

Rivian in California is seeking a Sr. Warehouse Associate to manage inbound/outbound materials, inventory, and repackaging while maintaining a safe, organized work environment and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

You will load/unload vehicles, repackage materials, operate forklifts and order pickers, and monitor inventory, reporting findings and opportunities to leadership to boost efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and forklift operation in a Warehouse/Distribution Center.
  • Prior warehouse experience; automotive background preferred.
  • Forklift experience (Raymond MHE preferred).
  • Comfort operating an order picker (Cherry Picker) above floor level.
  • Knowledge of LEAN practices (5S, identify waste, process improvements).
  • Led or participated in a continuous improvement project.
  • Basic computer skills with MS Office.

Role Summary

As a Sr. Warehouse Associate, you are responsible for material handling including inbound, outbound, inventory, and repackaging activities. You will foster a safe working environment, maintain organized cleanliness, and provide feedback on improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles
  • Repackage materials to meet the distribution requirements for Service Parts
  • Operate several types of powered equipment (forklift, stock chaser, etc.)
  • Identify inventory concerns based on quantity or quality discrepancies
  • Provide input into safety, quality, and throughput opportunities
  • Understand and utilize standard work
  • Maintain the proper use of equipment
  • Support general material handling request from leadership and team members
  • Participate in group efforts to foster an environment based on continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or other recognized high school equivalency credential preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience performing picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and forklift operating in a Warehouse or Distribution Center environment (preferred)
  • Prior experience in a warehouse environment (automotive preferred)
  • Previous forklift experience (Raymond MHE preferred)
  • Comfortable with operating an order picker (Cherry Picker) above floor level
  • Ability to understand tasks and responsibilities
  • Knowledge of LEAN practices (5s, Identify Waste, Process Improvements)
  • Led or participated in a continuous improvement project
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Understanding and compliant to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) guidelines
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day
  • Frequent use of hands to handle materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to stoop and kneel to retrieve materials up to 50 lbs. under select racking or floor pile locations
  • Required to communicate using telephone or email
  • Ability to view, read, and interpret documents, safety rules, and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform all duties in the warehouse that may contain dust, high noise, hot and cold weather
  • Flexible work schedule
Pay Disclosure

The salary range for this role is $26.87/hr forCaliforniabased applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.

The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus.
