Senior Vice President Operations Job Description

Marvin Lumber and Cedar Company LLC seeks a Senior Vice President Operations in Warroad, Minnesota to direct and oversee the organization's engineering division’s manufacturing operations and processes and all manufacturing and continuous improvement engineering resources, in addition to all supply chain and logistics activity for the business.

The specific position responsibilities include:

  • Develop detailed strategic plans to support manufacturing organizational growth plans;
  • Oversee multiple manufacturing sites to fully meet annual production targets, optimizing production mix and deploying the lowest delivered cost alternatives;
  • Lead all cost elements of the manufacturing sites to achieve their goals and budgets at the lowest cost while maintaining and improving all quality, safety and environmental standards;
  • Develop a high-performing team that can support the future needs of the business and provide leadership and direction on a cross-functional basis;
  • Develop, implement and maintain an operations supply chain strategy that supports achievement of the company’s business strategy and ensures continued identification and assimilation of innovative thinking and best practices;
  • Drive Lean strategy and deployment in addition to industry 4.0 initiatives across the manufacturing footprint;
  • Lead the development of engineering strategies that help with the digitalization and automation of the manufacturing facilities with an aim of streamlining operations over time; and
  • Further develop and drive its business strategy and growth forward, helping build strong customer relationships that maximize the company’s financial success.

We require a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Manufacturing) with five years of progressively responsible senior management-level operations experience within a global manufacturing environment. We also require five years of: progressively responsible, senior management level operations experience, and responsibilities within a global manufacturing environment with annual revenue of over $500 million; P&L management, supplier management and negotiation, leading of turnaround initiatives, developing and implementing strategic plans, leading teams across multiple manufacturing sites and geographies, implementing continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing programs, and integrating acquisitions. We require Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification. Requires 50% travel to visit manufacturing sites throughout the U.S.

Annual compensation: $295,000-$400,000 plus eligibility for bonus and long-term incentives. Benefits include health insurance, paid holidays/parental leave, 401(k) and more.
