Job summary

FCL Builders in Itasca, IL is seeking a Sr VDC Manager responsible for leading VDC/BIM efforts to enhance coordination, constructability, planning, and execution on industrial and commercial projects. This role drives BIM strategy, standards, and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will manage BIM execution plans, coordinate across civil, structural, architectural, and MEP scopes, and push for early risk resolution. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, or related field.
• Experience with BIM execution plans, model coordination, clash reports, issue logs, and digital turnover requirements.

• Develop, implement, and maintain BIM execution plans and digital delivery standards.
• Lead multidisciplinary model coordination across civil, structural, architectural, process, and MEP scopes.
• Facilitate clash detection, issue tracking, and model audits to drive timely resolution.

• Support model-based deliverables including 4D sequencing and as-built turnover requirements.
• Establish and reinforce BIM standards and digital collaboration procedures.

What You'll Do:

• Develop, implement, and maintain BIM execution plans, VDC workflows, coordination schedules, and digital delivery standards for industrial construction projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary model coordination across civil, structural, architectural, process, and MEP scopes throughout design and construction.
• Facilitate clash detection, issue tracking, model audits, and coordination meetings to identify risks early and drive timely resolution.
• Partner with project managers, superintendents, preconstruction teams, engineers, trade partners, and owners to improve constructability, sequencing, prefabrication opportunities, and field execution.
• Support model-based deliverables including coordination views, 4D sequencing, quantity takeoff assistance, installation planning, and as-built or turnover model requirements.
• Establish and reinforce BIM standards, file structures, naming conventions, model quality expectations, and digital collaboration procedures across project teams.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, or a related field; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, industrial project execution, model-based coordination, constructability review, and digital project delivery workflows.
• Experience managing BIM execution plans, coordination meetings, clash reports, issue logs, model audits, and digital turnover requirements.
• Proficiency with common VDC/BIM and construction technology platforms such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360, Bluebeam, CMiC, Procore, or similar systems.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence project teams, designers, and trade partners.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, mission critical, heavy commercial, or process facility construction is preferred.
• Relevant credentials such as CM-BIM, Autodesk certifications, or similar digital construction and industry certifications are a plus.
• Must be willing and able to travel and work on project sites as required to support coordination, field integration, client meetings, and project execution.
