Overview

Marzetti Company is a CPG Food Manufacturing Company specializing in Sauces, Salad Dressings, and Baked Food Products for Retail and Food Service markets. The Sr. Value Stream Manager is one of two Production Managers with end to end responsibility for their Value Stream. They lead and integrate the efforts of the process and packaging operations teams to ensure the production of high‑quality products in a safe workplace.

They are responsible for delivering superior results for excellent customer service at the optimal cost. The Value Stream Manager reports directly to the Sr. Director of Plant Operations and partners with other department heads to nurture the culture, site associates, brands, and assets. Strong leadership skills and high learning agility are required to focus on results, change, collaboration, problem solving, talent, and engagement.

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Promotes a participative management style and team building; partners with HR to develop a talent pipeline within the value stream; serves on the Plant Leadership Team to set strategic direction and prioritize capital expenditures.
• Operational Execution: Translates the plant Operational Master Plan (OMP) into value stream specific manufacturing goals and activities; ensures the right resources are in place to execute against the OMP; monitors workflow to improve efficiency and reduce waste; supports the achievement of business plans by driving cost to target.
• Quality & Safety: Champions the Marzetti Quality Culture to ensure production of the highest quality products and minimize food safety risks; fosters a safe workplace to minimize injury risk.
• Continuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities for process improvements and leads Kaizen events; drives the implementation of TPM (Marzetti Operational Excellence) methodologies; participates in MOE health checks and ensures sustainability of improvements.
• Change Management: Leads and supports change initiatives within the value stream, ensuring effective communication and engagement; develops and executes change management strategies.
• Visual Management: Defines visual controls such as dashboards and performance boards; coaches leaders to use visual tools for root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of manufacturing and/or management experience preferred; 4+ years as assistant plant manager or production manager.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles and processes preferred.
• Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
• Background in manufacturing methods, quality control, and process improvement programs, preferably in a food‑related industry.
• BA/BS degree in a related field preferred.

• Works in an office and manufacturing environment where the team member is regularly required to speak, read, and comprehend, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast‑paced production environment.
