Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise production employees to meet safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate shift activities and communicate with teams to ensure on-time production.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory programs (FSMA, OSHA, etc).
  • Maintain PPE inspections and safety practices consistent with company standards.
  • Support HR for hiring, training, and scheduling of production staff.

Overview

The position of Production Supervisoris responsible fordirecting and coordinating the overall assigned production area and manufacturing equipment to ensure compliance with the required standards for cleanliness. Assures quality and safety while achieving established goals andobjectives.

Responsibilities
  • Works respectfully with all team members to ensure the Safety, Quality, production and support of our products and goalson a daily basis.
  • Practices integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members and visitors.
  • Activelyparticipatesin Marzetti Operational Excellence, special projects or tasks, and modification programs as needed with prior approval.
  • Activelyparticipatesin department/shift/team meetings and is involved with improvement/resolutions & follow-up.
  • Maintains the highest standard of Safety for all functions on an ongoing basis and ensures compliance for self and others to OSHA standards.
  • Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, safety glasses, gloves, shieldsand aprons to ensure good overall condition of items that provideoptimalpersonal safety & protection while working in the facility.
  • If required for assigned tasks, successfullyacquiresandmaintainsLock Out-Tag Out Certification for machine and safely performs all functions in accordancetoOHSA and company requirements and standards.
  • As required, performs daily inspection of any applicable power equipment with proper documentation.
  • As a member of the T. Marzetti Company, completes his/her Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), corrects issues whenidentified, andparticipatesin problem solving.
  • Leads and promotes a strong Food Safety Culture within the facility
  • Completes his/her Behavior Based Quality observations (BBqs), corrects issues whenidentifiedandparticipatesin problem solving.
  • Ensures compliancetoquality, Food Safety Preventive Control (FSPC), FSMA, Food Defense, ,OSHA and other support programs; assures conformity to all company,customerand government standards.
  • Reviews, understands, andcomplies withall applicable SOPscontainingProcess or Preventive Control monitoring or verification, if trained anddesignatedas a Qualified Individual (QI).
  • Communicateany concerns related to product safety, integrity,qualityand legality to management or to the confidential hotline if the need for anonymity is necessary
  • Promotes integrity, respect, accountability, continuousimprovementand positive interactions with all Team Members,customersand vendors.
  • Direct andsuperviseproduction employees.
  • Works with HR for hiring, training and scheduling of production work force.
  • Responsible for and coordinates shift activities through planning and communication with employees to ensure all productionobjectivesareaccomplishedina timely, cost-effectiveand safe manner.
  • Ensure scheduling of the assigned production area.
  • Compiles required production reporting accurately andtimely.
  • Maintains close working relationships with all departments and responds to deviations from standardsimmediately.
  • Coordinates with department managers and shift supervisors to ensure a trouble-free shift start-up.
  • Responsiblefor &maintainspositive employee, corporate and community relations along with appropriateinterfacewith customer service,vendorsand contractors.
  • Regular Attendance isrequiredin accordance withCompany attendance policy and procedures.
  • Perform tasks or responsibilities as assigned by Management.
  • Completeinitial/annual training to ensure the individual is properly qualified (QI) to perform all required job tasks as outlined in training program/records.
  • Supervise 1-100 dept. employees.
  • Responsible for the overall direction,coordinationand results of the production area.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling,appraisingandterminatingemployees; planning,assigningand directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints/grievances and resolving problems.

Qualifications
  • 2-3yearsleadership experiencein a manufacturing environmentrequired, preferably in a food-related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately work with confidential information and situations and manage correspondence.
  • Positive leadership and self-motivation skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities, capable of multi-tasking,troubleshootingand resolution aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret written and verbal direction while working in a safe,effectiveand productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop hourly associates in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as business needs require.

Working Conditions/Environment
  • Works in a manufacturing environment where the Team Memberis regularly required tospeak, read, andcomprehend, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Must be able to push/pull 75poundsshort distances.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Stand for up to 12 hours with regular breaks.
  • May berequiredto work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap.
  • SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists)are required tobe worn/usedin accordance withcompany GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing theoptimalprotection of the Team Member.
