Location: Remote (EST and/or Local to Portsmouth, NH is a plus)

Pay Rate: Up to $50/hour (DOE)

The Planet Group's Fortune 500 Insurance company is looking for a Sr. UX Researcher with at least 4 years of experience in designing and executing custom data research for a 12-month contract starting in June 2025.

In this role, the Sr. UX Researcher will partner with UX Product Designers, UX Content Strategists, business teams, and Information Technology to understand business objectives, technology capabilities, and ensure design solutions meet user needs.

Sr. UX Researcher Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct user research activities (usability testing, online surveys, customer interviews) and translate findings into actionable insights that inform product development and optimization.
• Execute user research for assigned projects.
• Recommend appropriate research methods to address hypotheses or business problems, such as usability testing, surveys, interviews, or focus groups.
• Contribute to objective-setting and discovery processes, including user persona development and journey mapping.
• Test concepts and in-production experiences; moderate usability studies and maintain best practices to ensure quality and confidence in findings.
• Conduct expert reviews and heuristic evaluations to identify usability and accessibility improvements.
• Communicate research findings clearly and objectively, focusing on actionable insights.
• Collaborate with teams, seek and incorporate feedback to improve research quality.

Qualifications:

• Expertise in qualitative research methods, including usability studies, customer interviews, and heuristic reviews.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with quantitative tools like Validately and UserZoom.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to present to leadership.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Design, or related; Master’s preferred.
