Job summary

Daltile is seeking a Sr Transportation Coordinator to oversee analytics, optimize routes, and implement strategies that boost the performance of the transportation network. You will collaborate with vendors, customers, and internal teams to improve operations and cost efficiency.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree plus 4–6 years of relevant experience, with in-office work four days a week at our Dallas area location. This is a direct hire position based in Dallas, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 4–6 years of relevant transportation experience.
• Experience with freight payment, claims, and SOPs/compliance.
• Ability to collaborate with vendors, customers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transportation freight payment and claims operations.
• Lead aging and 1st pass yield with 3rd party freight payments.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and ensure compliance.
• Build relationships with internal departments and customers.
• Perform high-quality analyses to reduce costs and improve performance.
• Negotiate with vendors, carriers, and contractors.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities (detention, demurrage).
• Support freight payments for domestic transportation.
• Lead after-action reviews and share lessons learned.

The Sr Transportation Coordinator is a high performing contributor that is responsible for overseeing transportation analytics, optimizing routes, and implementing strategies to improve the overall performance of the transportation network. This role assists with the communication between departments, vendors, and customers and focuses on improving departmental operations.

• This role does NOT provide current or future sponsorship assistance.


• Please note that we will NOT provide relocation assistance (Candidates are expected to relocate on own 3 weeks from time of offer acceptance).


• Employees are required to report in office 4 days a week / 7834 CF Hawn Freeway | Dallas, Texas 75217 (NO NEGOTIATION).


• This is a direct hire role; We are NOT open to employing through contractor or agency.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

• Responsible for facilitating and/or coordinating transportation freight payment and claims operations and performance.


• Responsible for aging and 1st pass yield with 3rd party freight payment processing.


• Responsible for related SOPs and compliance.


• Establish relationships and provide support to various departments and customers inside and outside the organization.


• Perform high quality analysis on various items to improve costs, performance, and communications within and outside the department.


• Negotiate on price and other matters with vendors, carriers, and contractors.


• Assist with cost saving opportunities such as minimizing unnecessary costs (detention, demurrage).


• Responsible for freight payment of various vendors supporting domestic transportation.


• Recognized within team or departmental area as a subject matter expert and makes process and business decisions based on understanding of company and customer as well as industry practices, standards, and trends.


• Successfully lead after‑action reviews to identify, document, and share lessons learned.


• Collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate technical, system, and process improvements.


• Perform other duties as needed.

Required Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.


• 4-6 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
