Job summary

Radiant Industries in El Segundo, CA is hiring a Senior Thermofluids Systems Engineer, Power Conversion to own system‑level thermodynamic modeling of our power conversion architecture. You will define operating points, set boundary conditions, and serve as the bridge to control systems and reactor modelling teams to support our first commercial reactor design.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field, 5+ years in thermodynamics and power cycles, and proficiency with

Qualifications

5+ years in thermodynamic/power cycle modeling or systems engineering.
Experience with requirements development and system‑level verification.
Strong knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics in power cycles.
Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, or Python for performance analysis.
Clear communication of program status and trade studies.

Responsibilities

Model system‑level thermodynamics for power conversion across operating states.
Define boundary conditions for fluid components and turbomachinery.
Collaborate with hardware teams on architectural changes balancing performance, cost, and safety.
Interface with control systems to develop plant‑level dynamic models and envelopes.
Build performance models using MATLAB, Python, and Simulink.
Lead root‑cause analysis and inform hardware engineers via data‑driven insights.
Perform trade studies to optimize cycle and fluid architecture.
