Job summary

Qorvo in the United States is seeking a qualified RF test engineer to design and develop highly integrated RF modules, including RFFE, ensuring performance and reliability. You will develop automated test solutions, leverage RF test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters and DMM, and perform LTE/5G measurements.

The role requires a Master’s degree in EE and 5 years’ experience, with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days from home optional.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years of work experience in test engineering or related occupation.
• Experience developing automated RF/mixed-signal test solutions and understanding of S-parameters, DC/RF concepts.
• Experience developing ATE test plans for complex RF measurements using C++/Java.
• Proficiency with RF measurement equipment: VNA, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, DMM.
• Familiarity with LTE Advanced/5G measurements (ACLR, EVM, SEM, PAE, IMD, S-parameters, ESD).
• Familiarity with PCB layout techniques for optimum RF performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of highly integrated RF modules, including RFFE, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Develop and implement automated test solutions and ATE plans for RF measurements.
• Perform RF tests and characterize with S-parameters, DC/RF concepts, and LTE/5G metrics.
• Review schematics, datasheets and test procedures to support development and testing.
• Optimize test processes to reduce time and cost while maintaining accuracy.
• Collaborate across teams and adapt to hybrid (office/remote) work setup.

Job description

DUTIES:

Design and development of highly integrated RF modules, including Radio Frequency Front-End (RFFE) modules, ensuring performance and reliability standards are met. This include working with or developing automated test solutions incorporating RF/mixed-signal test and measurement equipment to include completed RF encompassing the understanding and analysis of S-parameters and DC and RF related concepts; developing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test plans for complex RF measurements utilizing C++/Java programming language; the usage of RF measurement equipment, including Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, and Digital Multimeters (DMM); power amplifier performance test measurement techniques/methodologies; LTE Advanced/ 5G measurements: ACLR, EVM, SEM, PAE, IMD, S-parameters, ESD Testing; and PCB layout techniques for optimum RF performance. Also, responsibilities include the creation and implementation of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test plans for complex RF measurements, focusing on accuracy and efficiency. Setup, optimization, and automation of test processes with continuous evaluation aimed at reducing test time and overall cost. Thoroughly review and interpret technical documentation, including schematics, datasheets, and test procedures, to support development and testing activities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, and 5 years of work experience in the job offered or in a test engineer-related occupation and to involve:

• (1) demonstrated experience developing automated test solutions incorporating RF/mixed-signal test and measurement equipment to include completed RF encompassing the understanding and analysis of S-parameters and DC and RF related concepts;
• (2) developing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test plans for complex RF measurements utilizing C++/Java programming language;
• (3) proficiency in the use of RF measurement equipment, including Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, and Digital Multimeters (DMM);
• (4) good understanding of power amplifier performance test measurement techniques/methodologies;
• (5) familiarity with LTE Advanced/ 5G measurements: ACLR, EVM, SEM, PAE, IMD, S-parameters, ESD Testing;
• (6) familiarity with PCB layout techniques for optimum RF performance.
