Ideal Innovations, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Test Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated tests in a cloud-based CI/CD environment. You will apply senior QA experience to automation frameworks and performance testing, and collaborate across Scrum teams to ensure acceptance criteria are met.

You will leverage Selenium or Katalon Studio with Java or Python, and integrate tests with Jenkins, GitHub, and DevOps workflows. This role requires TS/SCI with CI poly and is onsite in Bethesda, MD.

Highlights:

• Design, develop, and execute automated tests that strengthen software quality, reliability, and release velocity in a cloud-based CI/CD environment.
• Apply senior-level quality assurance experience to automation frameworks, scalable test scripts, and software performance testing.
• Use Selenium or Katalon Studio with Java or Python while integrating automated tests with Jenkins, GitHub, and DevOps workflows.

Typical Day:

As a Sr. Test Engineer on this program, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications and services in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Pipeline within a commercial cloud environment. You will play a crucial role in the software development lifecycle, aiming to streamline testing processes, reduce defects, and accelerate software releases.

Tasks:

• Participate in program Agile software development initiatives (standup, planning, increment planning) to support innovation and enhancement of custom applications through iteration/functionality testing within a commercial cloud environment.
• Participate and collaborate with team members to assess StoryPoint/complexity efforts (using best practices) to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria.
• Collaborate with team members (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Software Developers) to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases through selected toolsets.
• Develop automated test cases using knowledge of custom Applications through designated GUI/COTS products (ex: Selenium and Katalon Studio).
• Leverage DevOps practices to ensure repeatability and Configuration Management of test cases/scripts are maintained and continuously improved.
• Develop and document end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system (JIRA/Confluence) and support performance testing/evaluation activities using tools such as Jmeter.

Required Qualifications:

To be considered, must have an active TS/SCI with at least a CI-poly.

• Education: BS degree with 8 or more years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 6 or more years of prior relevant experience. Will consider experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in software quality assurance with a focus on automation testing.
• Experience with creation, authoring, execution and documentation of test cases/result sets for software products in an agile cadence.
• Experience using automation frameworks and tools like Selenium or Katalon Studio.
• Familiarity in writing efficient and scalable test scripts.
• Direct experience with software performance testing practices.
• Experience working/testing within Commercial Cloud Platforms (ex: AWS) and DevOps tools, and working in a SAFe Agile and DevOps development environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative environment to execute test cases complementary to development efforts.

Desired Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Katalon Studio and Katalon Runtime Engine
• Programming skills in languages such as Java or Python enabling the ability to write efficient and scalable test scripts.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub) and their integration with automated tests.
• Direct experience with AWS environments
