Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a senior voice technology engineer to architect and implement Avaya-based communication solutions across the enterprise. You will design IVR flows, routing, and reporting, collaborating with department heads to optimize patient and staff communications.

You will maintain Avaya infrastructure, stay current with industry issues, and influence technology roadmaps while working with IT vendors and internal partners to deliver reliable voice services.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Avaya reporting and SIP technologies.
  • Experience building Avaya routing solutions in an Avaya PBX.
  • Familiar with real-time and historical reporting.
  • Knowledge of Avaya Aura Solutions (CM/SM).
  • Knowledge of SIP technology and connectivity.
  • Familiar with large scale IP voice networks.
  • Experience with Linux/Windows servers, scripting, log management, patch management.
  • Ability to diagram network and call flows.

Responsibilities

  • Architect solutions and oversee implementation of new voice technology applications.
  • Design and develop enterprise-wide IVR flows and routing integrated with Avaya platform.
  • Maintain Avaya routing and reporting configuration.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps for unified communications and integration with other voice solutions.

  • Plan and support complex Avaya Telecom solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with IT vendors and partners.

Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $101,500.00 - $154,750.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

POSITION & UNIT ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develops/Manages Processes & Systems - Architect solutions and oversee implementation of new voice technology applications.
  • Develops/Manages Processes & Systems - Designs and develops enterprise-wide IVR Call Flows, Multi-Channel Routing, and other inter-related solution with the Avaya platform.
  • Upholds HSS Professional/Clinical Standards - Demonstrates an understanding of Avaya infrastructure.
  • Develops/Manages Processes & Systems - Maintains and manages Avaya routing and reporting.
  • Develops/Manages Processes & Systems - Participates in building the technology roadmaps for unified communication technologies and integration with Contact Center and other voice solutions at HSS.
  • Develops/Manages Processes & Systems - Consult with department heads on ways to optimize customer service delivery.
  • Develops/Manages Processes & Systems - Assist in the planning, design and implementation and provide ongoing support of complex Avaya Telecom solutions.
  • Supports Department Activities - Build and maintain relationships with IT vendors and partners.
  • Supports Department Activities - Provide high level of technical consultation and recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions.
  • Supports Department Activities - Work with other voice and network engineers to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Participates in Education - Stays current on knowledge of industry specific issues.
  • Participates in Education - Provides orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for user support staff in department.
