Job summary

Complete Logistical Services is seeking a Sr. Technologist II, System Engineer to oversee installation, configuration, and daily maintenance of identity management systems and server infrastructure. You will support operations and manage Tier 3 escalations with minimal supervision.

The role emphasizes Azure AD/Entra, Microsoft 365 admin, and automation using PowerShell, Ansible, and Orchestrator across global environments. Collaboration with IT teams and on-call duties are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience.
• 15+ years of total IT experience.
• 10+ years with Windows Active Directory.
• 10+ years scripting/automation with PowerShell, Ansible, and/or Orchestrator.
• 7+ years using system events/logs for trend analysis and reporting.
• 7+ years with vSphere or Azure hypervisors in large multi-site environments.
• 5+ years data gathering and data structures (XML, JSON, YAML, WQL).
• Strong working knowledge of Azure and Microsoft 365 administration (Entra, Exchange, Intune, OneDrive).
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and methodical troubleshooting.

About the Role

The Sr. Technologist II, System Engineer Contract-to-Hire role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and daily maintenance of identity management systems, server operating systems, server virtualization platforms, and related infrastructure tools. This position supports infrastructure operations and works independently with minimal supervision.

Success in this role means maintaining reliable, secure, and well-documented systems while proactively resolving Tier 3 escalations, contributing to IT projects, and managing assigned initiatives from planning through execution.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Administer Azure Portal and Microsoft 365 services, including Azure, Entra, Exchange, Intune, and OneDrive.
• Automate and streamline infrastructure operations using PowerShell and tools such as Orchestrator and Ansible.
• Manage identity and domain environments, including Active Directory, Entra, DNS, and DHCP.
• Operate and support Windows Server operating systems at scale across global environments.
• Analyze system logs and events to determine root cause, identify trends, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and handle escalations at a Tier 3 level.
• Participate in on-call rotation and/or after-hours support to ensure service continuity.
• Partner with communications, business systems, and desktop support groups to resolve cross-functional technical issues.
• Support IT project delivery by contributing to planning, implementation, and operational readiness activities.
• Create and maintain support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base materials to enable consistent operations.
• Assist with training and knowledge transfer to other members of the department.
• Manage own projects by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and communicating status and outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of total IT experience.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with Windows Active Directory.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with scripting and automation tools, including PowerShell and Ansible, and/or Orchestrator.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience using system events, logs, and other troubleshooting tools for trend analysis and reporting.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with vSphere or Azure hypervisors in a large, multi-site environment.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience with data gathering and data structures, including XML, JSON, YAML, WQL, or similar formats.
• Strong working knowledge of Azure and Microsoft 365 administration, including Entra, Exchange, Intune, and OneDrive.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and escalation handling.
