Job summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. seeks a passionate PE Seibi Assembly to support FAE PE with equipment procurement, design and trialing for NAMC’s assembly shops. This role involves PLC/robot programming, validating new equipment, and coordinating from design through start of production.

Expect travel to US, Canada, Mexico and possibly Japan; overtime and physically demanding tasks are part of the job. Toyota experience and ability to read drawings are required.

Qualifications

  • Associate technical degree (or higher) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong PLC programming experience with Toyopuc, AB, Omron and Siemens.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
  • Toyota experience is preferred.
  • Travel up to 50% at times (including international travel).
  • Overtime up to 20% when required. Driving is required.
  • Automotive assembly experience and knowledge of safety/vision systems.

Responsibilities

  • Program PLC/SPLC for robot cells and offline/online setups.
  • Validate new model equipment meets standards and functions as intended.
  • Prepare equipment at vendors and NAMC’s Seibi activity from design to start of production.
  • Develop countermeasures during setup and trials.
  • Travel to US, Canada, Mexico NAMCs and suppliers; possibly to Japan.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 40 lbs and climbing.

Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s TMNA Final Assembly Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated PE Seibi Assembly. The primary responsibility of this role is to support FAE PE with the procurement, design and trialing of new or modified equipment for NAMC’s assembly shops manufacturing production.

What you’ll be doing
  • PLC/SPLC programming Toyopuc, AB, Omron, Siemens Offline and/or online robot programming of Fanuc and Kawasaki robots
  • Confirm that new model equipment meets set standards and performs as intended
  • Prepare and confirm new Assembly equipment at the vendors and NAMC’s Support Assembly Seibi activity at North American Manufacturing Companies from design to installation and to start of production
  • Develop equipment countermeasures during set up/trials/SOP
  • Engage in travel (or dispatch) to U.S., Canada and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as foreign travel including Japan, Canada, Mexico
  • Commonly work overtime, including weekends and holidays and the ability to work off shifts when required
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs on occasion
  • Ability to frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching on varying surfaces
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Good vision and hand-eye coordination for detailed repairs
  • Ability to work in various environments including hot, cold, or confined spaces
  • Stamina to perform repetitive tasks and work long shifts
What you bring
  • Associate technical degree (or higher), or equivalent experience
  • Strong PLC programming experience, Toyopuc, AB, Omron, Siemens
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings
  • Toyota experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50% at times (including international travel)
  • Ability to work up to 20% overtime when required
  • This position requires driving
  • A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position
  • Added bonus if you have Degree in Industrial Maintenance related field
  • Automotive Assembly experience
  • Knowledge of safety scanner set up and programming
  • Knowledge of vision systems setup and integration
  • Knowledge of various industrial controls networking, Ethernet IP, TCIP, FLnet, ProfiNet
  • Understanding of Toyota Assembly AVI Toyota PE Seibi experience
  • Automotive experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, Power-Point, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with mentoring and/or technical training
