Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a Sr. Technician, Engine Build to assemble engines, document builds, and continuously improve processes in a racing environment.

You will mentor technicians, lead special projects, and ensure on-time completion of builds while maintaining high-quality standards and rigorous documentation. Salary ranges reflect senior technical responsibilities and Toyota benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in racing engine environment.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with engine build tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail in hands-on assembly and documentation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation.

Who we’re looking for

TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Technician, Engine Build.

What you’ll be doing

• Assemble required components, sub-assembly, cylinder heads or final engine build in accordance with Engineering specifications and performance standards.
• Accurately document component data and build records within electronic build blocks.
• Review and interpret build specifications; proactively identify discrepancies, errors, or opportunities to improve build processes.
• Ability to quickly learn new procedures and adjust to changing environments.
• Maintain a deep understanding of engine build processes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Demonstrate technical expertise in complex troubleshooting.
• Consistently deliver precision workmanship and high-quality output in a fast-paced racing environment.
• Mentor and guide technicians to uphold technical standards, best practices, and quality expectations.
• Take initiative in identifying process improvements, workflow efficiencies, and potential risks before they impact production.
• Anticipate and mitigate workflow challenges to ensure on-time completion of builds.
• Lead special projects and non-traditional assignments that support departmental and organizational objectives.

What you will bring

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum five years’ experience in racing engine environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in all engine build-related tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Comprehensive understanding of internal combustion engine design, high-performance race engine assembly processes, and performance validation requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail in both hands-on assembly work and documentation.
• Hands on engine, cylinder head and sub-assembly build experience
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with all departments.
• Ability to train and mentor assembly technicians on technical standards and quality expectations.
• Proficient with relevant software tools for documentation and reporting; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Bonus if you have

• Familiarity with Toyota Racing Development and motorsports industry best practices is a plus.

The annual base salary range for this position is $86,300.00 - $140,300.00.
