Job summary

TRD Toyota Racing Development Company seeks a skilled Technician, Engine Build, to assemble and prepare production race engines for our racing teams. You will follow engineering specifications, maintain detailed build records, and ensure high-quality output across all tasks.

The role requires deep engine knowledge, hands-on experience with cylinder heads and sub-assemblies, and strong mechanical aptitude. Proficiency in Office tools supports documentation and reporting critical to TRD’s racing

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Five years’ experience in a racing engine environment.
• Hands-on engine, cylinder head and sub-assembly builds.
• Deep understanding of internal combustion engines.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with precise engine build measurements and tooling (clearance, torque, stretch).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Who we’re looking for TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Technician, Engine Build.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and prepare production race engines for TRD’s race teams.
• Assemble components according to engineering specifications, following established processes and procedures.
• Deliver high-quality work, addressing both scheduled and unschooled tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
• Taking ownership of meticulous attention to detail in both assembly processes and documentation.
• Update and maintain electronic build books with accurate component information.
• Support continuous improvement by refining processes and procedures in collaboration with team members.
• Troubleshoot issues and build technical understanding to resolve challenges effectively.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and tour-ready work area at all times.

What you will bring

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a racing engine environment.
• Hands-on engine, cylinder head and sub-assembly builds.
• Deep understanding of internal combustion engines.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in precise engine build measurements and tooling, including and not limited to clearance, torque, and stretch.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Physical requirements

• Standing: Frequent/Intermittent Up to 3 hours per day.
• Walking: Occasionally/Intermittent Up to 3 hours per day.
• Sitting: Occasionally/Intermittent.
• Lifting: Up to 50 lbs., occasionally/Intermittent.
• Carrying: Up to 50 lbs., occasionally/Intermittent.

The annual base salary range for this position is $74,200.00 - $120,500.00.
