Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Malta, NY is seeking a Sr. Lab Technician with a 2-year degree and up to 5 years in a characterization lab. You will run lab tools and take DC/CV, S-parameters, and flicker measurements, using in-house test software. This on-site role supports a 300mm facility, Monday–Friday daytime schedule.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor's in science/engineering and have coding interest; exceptions such as training and safety programs are provided. Salary range disclosed.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical/associate degree in science, math, engineering, semiconductor manufacturing or related discipline.
• 0–5 years of experience in a fabrication/ electronics environment.
• Strong English communication and organizational skills.

Summary of Role: GlobalFoundries in Malta NY is looking for a Sr. Lab Technician who has a 2-year associate's degree with up to 5 years of experience working in a characterization lab. Responsibilities include running the lab tools, taking measurements for DC/CV, S-parameters and Flicker Noise in the lab. The technician will be expected to work with the in-house software used as the test executive in the lab. This role is fully on-site at our 300mm semiconductor manufacturing facility, in Malta NY. The schedule will be a Monday - Friday daytime schedule.

Essential Responsibilities

• Operate high end tools in the Lab and take measurements at device level for specific test conditions as provided by the technology team or the modeling team
• Collaborate with your team to help with specific workloads such as logging the wafers in the lab in our lab software tools
• Assist with tool calibration and maintenance
• Continue learning new skill sets within the lab environment to help with new and exciting testing capabilities; develop more efficient processes
• Collaborate with cross functional teams for problem solving & debugging

Other Responsibilities

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
• Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor

Required Qualifications

• Education - 2-Year Technical/associate's degree in science, Math, Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing or a related discipline
• Experience - minimum 0-5 years' experience in a Fabricator setting and/or working with electronics
• Capacity to understand new concepts and apply them during the measurements
• Possesses strong organizational skills to assist with logistics in the lab
• Excellent and effective communication skills
• Language Fluency - English (both Written & Verbal)

• Education: Bachelor's degree in science, Math, Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing or a related discipline
• Demonstrate coding skills and interest in coding
• Demonstrate technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor process and equipment
• Motivation to learn new concepts and be a team player

Expected Salary Range $48,200.00 - $83,200.00 The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
