Job description

Sr Technical Program Manager, Amazon Devices - Emerging

Job ID: 10505592 | Amazon.com Services LLC

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive new consumer devices from working prototype through customer launch. As a member of a small, fast-moving product development team, you will own the end-to-end execution of ambitious hardware programs - coordinating industrial design, mechanical, electrical, audio, camera, thermal, silicon, software, and manufacturing partners to bring new categories of intelligent home devices to market.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end program plan for one or more new consumer hardware devices from engineering validation through design validation, production validation, and customer launch.
  • Drive schedule, scope, budget, and risk across cross-functional hardware and software workstreams; run the operating cadence that keeps engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, and go-to-market teams aligned.
  • Partner directly with contract manufacturers, JDMs, and EMS partners to execute prototype builds, tooling ramps, and pilot production. Own the day-to-day interface between Amazon and our external manufacturing partners.
  • Coordinate silicon selection, camera, audio, thermal, mechanical, electrical, and connectivity workstreams so they converge on beautiful, high-quality customer hardware.
  • Manage build plans, unit distribution, and change control across engineering and prototype fleets. Track BOM cost, yields, and quality gates in flight.
  • Anticipate blockers, elevate crisply, and drive decisions across senior stakeholders. Keep leadership informed with concise, data-backed program updates.
  • Establish and evolve program mechanisms tailored to small, fast-moving hardware programs - not one-size-fits-all consumer device processes. Modify or exclude standard steps when necessary to race to a working product.
  • Own trip planning, on-site presence at manufacturing partners, and cross-time-zone coordination as programs move through key milestones.
About the team

Emerging Products is a small, cross-functional team inside Amazon Devices that invents new consumer devices for the home. We bring product management, engineering, research, and applied science together under one team so we can move from concept to working prototype quickly. We build the class of devices that doesn't yet exist - new categories of intelligent, ambient home devices that expand what Alexa can be. We prefer speed over process, we operate as a small ring-fenced unit, and we ship.
