We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr. TPM) who is capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and has a strong will to get things done! Sr. TPMs at Amazon work on real world problems at a global scale. In this role you will be responsible for conceiving, prioritizing, and executing Sales Planning automation initiatives, to include demand forecasting, planning, and optimization. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Science, and customers to ensure we deliver the right features to address business needs on time. functions. As a key leader for the Sales Planning & Inventory Operations team you will work directly with product, engineering, science, finance, and sales and marketing to ensure we deliver the right features to address business needs on time. You will drive the future of Sales Planning at Amazon!

Key job responsibilities
- Own components of the product development lifecycle management process
- Consult on technical designs and implementations
- Build and iterate on the ideas and support the goals, using the best and most appropriate tools and techniques for the task.
- Iterating on foundational support for the program, including establishing and owning internal mechanisms such as business reviews, bi-weekly updates, flashes, internal documentation, etc.
- Use data to drive and measure process improvements that enhance our operational effectiveness.
- Serve as a bridge between business need and technical implementation.
- Effectively present work to all levels of the leadership.
- Be an effective collaborator in a cross functional organization of PMs, SDEs, Scientists, and Economists.

About the team
We create products that enable seamless use of the total unit forecast (at different price points), optimization-based recommendation for promotions schedules, and automate propagation of price and projected units through execution systems. We achieve this by (a) creating science models to generate optimized prices for future promotions based on business goals, guardrails, and science forecasts, (b) automating the manual steps involved in planning, updates, approval, and execution of promotions, and (c) managing and improving error prevention and mitigation systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
