Job description

Introduction

A career in IBM Software means you'll be part of a team that transforms our customer's challenges into industry-leading solutions. We are an infinitely curious team, always seeking new possibilities, and dedicated to creating the world's leading AI-powered, cloud-native software solutions. Our renowned legacy creates endless global opportunities for our network of IBMers. We are a team of deep product experts, ensuring exceptional client experiences, with a focus on delivery, excellence, and obsession over customer outcomes. This position involves contributing to HashiCorp's offerings, now part of IBM, which empower organizations to automate and secure multi-cloud and hybrid environments. You will join a team managing the lifecycle of infrastructure and security, enhancing IBM's cloud solutions to ensure enterprises achieve efficiency, security, and scalability in their cloud journey.

Your role and responsibilities

HashiCorp is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager with a strong background in cloud platform and a demonstrated history with compliance work, with PCI knowledge as a bonus. The selected candidate will impact product and customer success through personal accountability, a demonstrated track record of success, subject matter expertise, and great interpersonal relationships.

As part of the R&D Operations team, you'll improve and execute on the operations of the organization, including HashiCorp Cloud Platform and/or Internal Platform. You will drive complex programs and initiatives requiring close cross-functional collaboration across multiple disciplines and products, in a fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for bringing alignment and meaningful collaboration across engineering, product, design, security, GRC, marketing, pricing, and other partners. You should have a strong appreciation for scaling processes, thrive in a dynamic environment, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Our R&D team and other cross-functional teams are almost entirely remote. While prior remote experience isn't required, we seek team members who perform well with a high level of independence within an evolving working model. Strong systems thinking, collaboration, communication, and team-building skills are essential to work effectively with organizational leaders across functions.

What you’ll do (responsibilities)

  • Drive outcomes, not just outputs. Help define and implement an end-to-end telemetry solution efficiently.
  • Lead coordination for cross-product programs to ensure all aspects (end result, milestones, dependencies) are managed.
  • Work closely with leadership to execute strategic initiatives, proactively identifying risks and mitigation plans.
  • Manage collaboration between engineering, product, design, and non-R&D functions by setting priorities, defining milestones, and delivering plans.
  • Create and maintain program documentation following the standard R&D Ops template.
  • Own systems for project documentation, status tracking, dashboards, and stakeholder communication to ensure program health.
  • Establish, drive, and improve standards for processes that enhance product delivery and team efficiency.
  • Contribute to a culture of excellent execution and remove obstacles to project completion.
  • Collaborate with leadership and operational teams on process improvements to deliver value faster and more confidently.

This job can be performed from anywhere in the US.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Experience within a cloud platform organization.
  • Experience managing R&D programs through full product lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of distributed software architecture and cloud technologies.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems creatively.
  • Strong communication skills, understanding stakeholder needs, and a track record of project delivery.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Experience with PCI, compliance, and cloud platform deliverables.
  • Familiarity with HashiCorp products.
  • Experience working in rapidly growing organizations and cross-functional enterprise software teams.
  • Strong bias for action and ability to handle ambiguity.
