Job description

Sr. Tax Associate

Locations: Stamford, CT / Irving, TX / Ft. Myers, FL
Duration: 6 Months + (Possible Extension)

The Tax Associate will assist the Tax Director with the following responsibilities:

  1. Management and coordination of all aspects of consolidated provision.
  2. Work with federal, state, and international teams to compile and analyze results.
  3. Maintain executive summary deliverables, including CFO presentations.
  4. Coordinate with FP&A and transfer pricing teams quarterly to rationalize full-year pretax projections by region.
  5. Compile documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley testing of the consolidated process.
  6. Draft tax-related financial disclosures.
  7. Consider developments in financial reporting, changes in financial accounting standards, and changes in business and tax laws.
  8. Research tax technical accounting questions as necessary.
  9. Identify items for discussion and draft disclosure committee talking points.
  10. Work on cash tax and rate guidance in collaboration with FP&A, TP, and tax teams to compile data.
  11. Prepare scenario analyses and develop guidance ranges quarterly.
  12. Assess YTD performance against guidance and raise potential risks.
  13. Develop the annual tax department budget.
  14. Track YTD spend versus budget and report progress to GVP of tax.
  15. Ensure audit committee approval for all spend with external auditors.
  16. Conduct selected research and special projects, such as maintaining global equity compensation summaries, researching US tax treatment on synthetic debt instruments, and proposing tax accounting policies for GILTI.
Skills:
  • Tax experience including Global Provision and Financial Reporting.
  • Public accounting experience or a mix of public and private is preferred.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to identify and effectively communicate status and issues.
  • Sense of ownership and understanding of the purpose of assigned tasks.
  • Strong project management skills, proactively executing against plans and raising roadblocks early.
  • Motivated, high-potential performer with demonstrated influence and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Adaptability to manage ambiguity and unexpected changes.

Education:

BS in Accounting, Business, or Finance (minimum requirement)

Preferred:

MST, CPA, or JD is a plus.
