Responsibilities

1. Lead validation of integrated software releases at the subsystem level.
2. Work cross-functionally with various vehicle control teams to land quality end-to-end features.
3. Develop a strong understanding of various hardware platforms.
4. Support failure analysis and root cause analysis for test and integration issues.
5. Develop test strategies for vehicle level features to help ensure proper test coverage and assist with automation.
6. Bridge the gap between software development and integration of infotainment software as it pertains to vehicle software.
7. Collaborate with the quality team to ensure a tight feedback loop.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree or greater in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
2. 5+ years hands-on experience integrating and testing automotive embedded sub-systems or similar consumer electronics devices.
3. Understanding of continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD) software development models.
4. Solid understanding and experience with RTOS and POSIX-based embedded systems; one or more of Linux, Android, QNX.
5. Fluency with debugging communications issues involving Ethernet and CAN using industry standard tools.
6. Experience developing configuration, measurement, and testing scripts using Python within the context of a test automation framework.
7. Experience with audio, video, graphics subsystems and peripherals is highly desired.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
9. Team player with excellent communication skills.
10. Passion to take software from development to a verified product.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California (Palo Alto) Based Applicants: $146,900-$183,600 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range for California (Irvine) Based Applicants: $135,100-$168,900 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
