Job summary

Marotta Controls in Parsippany, NJ is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to design, develop, integrate and deploy Automated Test Equipment for development and production programs in the Aerospace & Defense sector. You will define test system requirements, verify designs, and document procedures across cross-functional teams. Collaboration with PM, QA, Supply Chain and IPT is essential; mentoring will be provided to junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering is required.
  • 7+ years of experience in Test Engineering / Test Equipment design for power and/or electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with Environmental Testing including MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-810 is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate, plan, organize, supervise, and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test system requirements and design specifications.
  • Develop and present Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews.
  • Develop Validation/Verification Procedures.
  • Execute Validation/Verification of test systems.
  • Create Test System Documentation including User Manuals and Maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure modular design to maximize reuse across programs.

Sr. Systems Engineer -Test Equipment Engineering

The Test Equipment Systems Engineer works as part of a cross-functional, multidisciplinary team to design, develop, integrate and deploy Automated Test Equipment for use across development and production programs at Marotta Controls, Inc.

As a Systems Engineer you will be ultimately responsible for the Test System Design Specification Requirements (Gathering and Analysis), System Design Verification/Validation and Test System Documentation. Additionally, you will be responsible for the implementation of overall design objectives across systems. This includes modularity so systems can be easily leveraged across programs.

You will need to collaborate with key stakeholders across Program Management, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and IPT to achieve project goals. You will also be interfacing with Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineers in the Test Equipment group to provide guidance and mentoring, when necessary. You will also be expected to help implement/improve and promote company and industry standard best practices.

  • Develop test system requirements and test system design specification

  • Develop Validation\Verification Procedures
  • Execute Validation\Verification of test systems
  • Develop Test System Documentation including User’s Manual, System Maintenance and Calibration procedures
  • Responsible for ensuring commonality (modular design) across systems in order to maximize re-usability
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering is required
  • 7+ years’ experience in Test Engineering / Test Equipment design of power and/or electromechanically systems
  • Experience with Environmental Testing including MIL-STD-461(EMI) and/or MIL-STD-810 (Environmental) Testing is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, plan, organize, supervise, and control work in one or more projects concurrently.
  • Experience in executing a project from the beginning to the end.
  • Ability to work closely with a team of engineers and technicians and comfortable in laboratory environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen
Work Environment
  • Position entails exposure to typical manufacturing (i.e., Machine Shop, Assembly, Testing, etc.) environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing, and foot protection (as required).
  • Business office environment requiring use of telephone and personal computer.
  • Work under pressure and overtime when required, in order to meet deadlines
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Test Equipment Systems Engineer is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
  • The Test Equipment Systems Engineer is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • The Test Equipment Systems Engineer is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
  • The Test Equipment Systems Engineer may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds

This position is at our Parsippany NJ office location.

Pay Range: $110,000- $130,000 per year
