Synectic Solutions, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to support Live/Virtual/Constructive (LVC) training systems for TCTS II/ATLaS at NAS Patuxent River in Lexington Park, MD.

The hybrid role requires DoD experience, TS clearance, and leadership across complex system integration efforts. You will apply systems engineering methods, help guide the LVC architecture, and ensure interfaces between ground systems, weapon models, and constructive entities are designed and maintained throughout

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with Active Top Secret Clearance.
• MS or MA in a technical or scientific field; substitution: BS/BA + 4 years of relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of engineering experience, 3 of which relate to DoD systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communications and teamwork in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs programmatic or technical leadership roles, designing and testing practical engineering solutions.
• Applies systems engineering methods to develop advanced, complex systems.
• Assists with the LVC architecture and related interfaces.
• Addresses questions on Live/Virtual/Constructive LVC elements.
• Sets up configuration control for interfaces between TCTS II ground system and weapon models.
• Plans PMA-205 portions of the LVC CRD and guides development of modern complex systems.

Job description

Synectic Solutions isseeking aSr. Systems Engineer – Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) Training Systemsto support the Tactical Combat Training System Increment II (TCTS II) / ATLaS program within the Naval Aviation Training Systems and Ranges Program Office (PMA-205) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. PMA-205 provides full lifecycle acquisition of naval aviation platforms and general training systems, training range instrumentation systems, and distributed mission training centers. The TCTS II is a next generation secure, Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) enabling, air combat training system that offers realistic threat scenarios and secure cross-service training. This position is hybrid with local telework and on-site at NAS Patuxent River as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs programmatic or technical leadership roles in an organization, identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems
• Employs systems engineering methods and tools in the development of advanced complex systems
• Assists with the LVC architecture
• Address emerging technical and architecture questions regarding the Live (aircraft)-Virtual (simulations)-Constructive (synthetic threat) LVC elements
• Sets up processes for configuration control of interfaces between the TCTSII ground system and weapons models/constructive entity generating software systems
• Sets up processes for configuration control of the interfaces between the TCTSII system and the aircraft.
• Plan for and implement the PMA-205 portions of the LVC Capabilities Requirements Document (CRD)
• Guides the engineering development of modern complex systems

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen withActive Top Secret Clearance.
• Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience
• At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems.
• Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear communications and teamwork skills working in a collaborative environment
